St. Patrick’s Day Pony Ride

My sister (aka GreenBootGoatFarmer) is about to have her 4th baby.  Literally, any day now.  A few of us girls decided to take her out to lunch to celebrate.  It was a lot of fun.  Anticipating the arrival of new babies is so exciting.  The food was good and the company was great.  We played our own versions of baby shower games and it was fun to keep things spontaneous and simple.  Just my kind of party.

A little before the lunch I stopped by my mom’s place.  They have a 700 hundred acre farm in Citrus County.  I told her I wanted to do a little pony ride.  She was surprised and even thought I was kidding.  You see, normally I have my little boys and I am helping them ride the ponies, but today I was free.  The kids stayed home with my husband and this was just a Mommy day.  We headed over to the ponies and I was a little nervous.  It has been a long time since my last ride.  It took me a few minutes to relax and then everything was fine.  We rode around for a little while and it was fun to feel like a kid again.  It’s true what they say ~ Kids have all the fun!

Here are a few pictures of the grandkids riding the ponies around the property.  They are much more confident than me!  They make it look so easy.

Those kids and ponies are adorable. I dream of getting a pony into my household ‘zoo’. I got two goats and chicken for now.
