Homeopathic medicines are great for backaches. Other forms of complementary therapies are massage therapy, acupuncture, and light stretching/exercise. When used together the relief comes very quickly. Here are a few remedies that are great for certain types of backaches.
Arnica– Backache from injury or overuse of back muscles.
Bryonia– Aching or stitching pain from the slightest movement. Feels better when still. Firm pressure gives relief.
Hypericum– Sharp or shooting pain. From a fall or blow to the back. Great for people in athletes with constant strain.
Magnesia Phos– Shooting or stitching pains that are sensitive to touch and feel better w/ warmth.
Nux Vomica– Heavy and stiffness of neck, digestive problems, headache. Lower back pain accompanied by constipation. Worse in the morning, after eating, and when the back is touched.
Rhus tox– Best medicine for lower back pain. Shoulder blade pains and stiff neck. Worse at night. Worse in the cold, better in the heat. Caused by overexertion, lifting, injury.
I love acupuncture as a form of back ache relief. If I had more $ and time I would get acupuncture every week. Let me add massage onto that list too. Love them.
