Kefir Ice Cream is refreshing and light. There are many health benefits to eating kefir ice cream. Probiotics (found in kefir) help keep an immune system strong and healthy. The more friendly bacteria in your diet the better! We eat probiotic rich foods, beverages, and desserts. This is a great one.
Ingredients for kefir ice cream:
2 cups kefir (can substitute yogurt, buttermilk, or Amasai)
1 cup Kefir Cream made with Heavy Cream ( I used 1 cup raw yogurt)
2 tsp Vanilla Extract
1 cup Organic Sugar
1. Beat eggs together and then mix in sugar.
2. Blend in the kefir, cream, and vanilla. Pour into the ice cream maker and follow the instructions that came with the machine.
For my ice cream maker~ it takes about 25 minutes.
Something I forgot to do this time. Place glass container (that you are transferring ice cream into) in freezer to cool it down. This ice cream does start to melt quickly in a warm container. Transfer to freezer and enjoy! Add fresh fruit or other toppings. The best homemade kefir ice cream 🙂
