Strawberry Lemonade

With Probiotics.

We have been going to a few parties lately.  Parties are fun, but they usually serve soda or punch.  Most of the punch mixes have soda in them, too.  Why do I care? Not sure, but it bugs me.  Besides water, which is probably what I would serve at a party at my house, what other alternatives are there for punches with no soda?  It needs to taste good and be something “special” right?  This is a great strawberry lemonade recipe.  I added an extra “punch” of probiotics, but you can always leave that out.

Ingredients

1 1/2 cup frozen strawberries

1 cup sugar

1 cup water

1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice

1/2 cup whey (optional for probiotics)

Bring 1 cup water to boil and mix in sugar.  Let cool for a few minutes.  Put the frozen strawberries in blender (use organic or local if possible).  Set aside.  Then I juiced the lemons ~ set aside.  Add the sugar water to the blender.  Blend until smooth.  Pour strawberry mixture into a pitcher.  Add 1 cup lemon juice, 1/2 whey (optional), and fill w/ additional water (about 3-4 cups).  Enjoy.

Yum! But be careful it is VERY sweet.  I took this mixture and turned it into popsicles.  Will post about that later.  If you have a sweet tooth you will love this!

Cheers!
