Non-Toxic Bathroom Scrub

It’s time for some deep cleaning in the Green Boot home.  Why?  I wish the answer was that I am a clean freak, but I am not.  I appreciate cleanliness, but I am more of a cooking girl than a cleaning girl.  Either way, I have had my fair share of light chemical burns from regular cleaning supplies.   Maybe that is why I don’t care so much for deep cleaning.  I am also sensitive to latex, so cleaning gloves can be problematic.  If certain chemicals touch my skin I get redness and irritation.  I even have pain that lasts up to 24 hours if certain cleaning supplies touch the skin right by my fingernails.  Solution: it is time for me to make my cleaning supplies.  I came across Frugally Sustainable and found a great natural scrub recipe.

Just tried it out and my bathroom looks sparkly clean.  No burns, no irritation, no concern toxic chemicals.

Homemade Soft Scrub

-¾ cup baking soda
-Enough liquid castile soap to form a paste
-5 drops tea tree oil (disinfectant)
-5 drops of lemon (optional)

I used this scrub in the toilet bowl, bathtub, sink, around the toilet, and even on the tile.  Love it. Works great.
