My grandmother was healthy and very frugal. She was a great cook. Here is one of her favorite recipes. It is simple and tasty. Great for kids.
1/2 lb grassfed hamburger
1 14 ounce can organic stewed tomatoes
1/2 green pepper diced
1/2 onion diced
1-2 carrots finely shredded
1 1/2 – 2 cups cooked rice
1. Fry hamburger with green pepper and onions. Add shredded carrots. Turn down to low.
2. Add stewed tomatoes.
3. Simmer on stove or leave in crock pot on low for several hours.
4. Add cooked rice just before serving and top with shredded cheese.
5. Enjoy! You can really spice it up w/ hot sauce, a little cilantro, or some sour cream. We love flavor in our home!
