Safe Sunscreen

Safe sunscreen is important for all of our outdoor activities.  Spring is finally here in Utah.  We are so excited!  I have been missing Florida these last few weeks because it has been unusually cold in Utah.  I hope this warm spring Utah weather is here to stay…. and (fingers crossed) no more snow storms!

Now that spring is here, it is time to send the boys outside.  Today we drove over to the Cottonwood Heights area to a beautiful park.  There are great hiking trails and a mountain stream running thru it… we still get really excited about mountain streams 🙂  The boys played on the playground, tire swing, and loved throwing rocks into the stream.  John taught Grant how to “Skip a Rock” and he just kept practicing over and over.  It was really peaceful and the sun was shining nice and bright.

It is very easy to get too much sun in Utah.  We are at a much higher elevation than Florida.  My friends and family have warned me about this issue already so it is important to be prepared.  Today I brought along my favorite brand of nontoxic sunscreen called Badger.  I put sunscreen on both the boys faces (and my own) before I let them out of the car. I had peace of mind knowing they would not get burned.  Especially after this LONG winter!

These are great safe nontoxic alternatives to a regular toxic sunscreen.  Research the brand more if you are still unsure….. or you can always make Homemade Sunscreen.
