Natural Ways to reduce Anxiety

What are your ways to reduce anxiety?  I eat foods that help me reduce anxiety.  I exercise to reduce anxiety.  I do deep breathing to reduce anxiety.  Many things help to reduce anxiety, but one important Mineral really reduces anxiety.  Any guesses??  This Mineral is the popular Mineral Magnesium.  Magnesium lotion, oil, powder, and bath salts really help reduce anxiety for me.The last few weeks have been a little rough for me.  After my trip to the hospital I was super stressed out about my health.  I am actually doing really well now- thank goodness.  My worries stem from all the negative effects of the medications that I took.  They did their job for the short-term, but I have felt very uneasy about the long term.

I know that I need to RELAX and not be so hard on myself.  That is why this post is all about natural ways to reduce anxiety.  What is a great way to reduce anxiety?  Increasing my Magnesium intake.  If I am already feeling stressed out (which I totally am right now) it usually means I am running low on Mg.

What are the signs of Magnesium deficiency?

Due to the fact that magnesium is so vital to so many bodily processes, deficiency can contribute to a wide variety of conditions, such as Source:
• Stress
• Fatigue & Low Energy
• Inability to Sleep
• Muscle Tension, Spasms & Cramps
• Anxiousness and Nervousness
• Irritability
• Headaches
• Weakness
• PMS and Hormonal Imbalances
• Weakening Bones
• Abnormal Heart Rhythm
• Calcification of Organs

“A magnesium deficiency can cause or worsen symptoms of anxiety. Magnesium naturally calms the nervous system and the muscles; whereas, a deficiency can result in a tense body and an anxious mind.

I have been focusing on increasing my Magnesium intake for the last few weeks.  I know all the medications decreased my Magnesium levels.

I was on a strong antibiotic for 10 days, a strong steroid, advil/ tylenol, and even different strong pain medicines.  My levels were definitely affected… negatively.

Here are the ways I increase my Mg levels.

1. Magnesium Calm.

I drank a full serving of magnesium each night that I was on medication.  It helped to promote restful sleep and calm my nerves.

2. Magnesium Lotion

I applied Magnesium lotion to my hands and feet daily… and I am still doing this now.

3. Epsom Salt Baths

If you are feeling a little extra stressed out or anxious (like me).  Think about increasing your Magnesium levels naturally through Epsom Salt Baths.  These baths will help calm the nervous system and relax your muscle.  They are very soothing!  I know it has really helped me these last few weeks.  I am going to keep it up until I feel like my Mg levels are back to normal.
