Counting Cows

Today we spent the day at our 240 acre Brooksville Farm counting cows.  The grass at this farm is knee high and the cows are happy grazing the day away.  Their bellies are full of Florida organic grasses.  We have over 140 cows they are spread out all over the property.  It takes a few hours to count all the cows and their calves.  We found 5 new baby calves today.  The boys love counting cows.

Keep counting and counting…

A few of the baby calves ran from us.  They are fast.

We rode around counting cows and it was pretty relaxing.  I love farm days.  It feels so good to be outside and away from technology for a day.  Florida is getting lots of rain right now.  There is so much grass growing everywhere.  The cows are loving it.  We are growing our cow herd each year.  This year the herd will get up to about 200 head of cows.  Once the herd grows we will begin selling grassfed beef again.  We sold out last year and this year we will have more grassfed beef available.  Looking forward to it.
