December is always a really busy time for my family. My husband’s birthday is December 3rd, then my oldest son’s birthday is December 16th and my little baby Garrett’s birthday is December 25th!! Yes Christmas morning he was born. I went into labor at 11 pm Christmas Eve and he was born at 2:00 am Christmas morning. Not the plan for my ideal Christmas, but natural labor happens when it happens.
I am writing this post about my homemade Christmas gifts feeling really guilty. Why? Well this gift is probably not at the top of anyone’s Christmas list. I should be making homemade anti wrinkle cream, or sunscreen, or lip balm….well not this year for me. I am tired, overstressed, and I just found out on Sunday I am pregnant! Pregnant with #3. My big surprise for Christmas. I can’t tell my friends or family, but I can tell my readers right?
So what are people getting this year: HOMEMADE DEODORANT
Really I am just giving it out to a few friends and family that really know me. Kind of like a gag gift. But let’s be honest. We all need deodorant, so really it is a great gift. You use it everyday and it is always at the wrong time that you run out. This deodorant works, smells great, and lasts a long time. I wouldn’t plan on traveling with it, but it is great to have laying around the bathroom.
1/8 cup baking soda (less if their is any irritation)
1/4 cup cornstarch or arrowroot powder
4 Tablespoons coconut oil
5-6 drops favorite essential oil
Melt the coconut oil in the winter. Mix all ingredients together in a medium bowl. I add the oils last. Simple. Safe. Non Toxic. I hope my special friends will like the Homemade Gift.
