I like to make popcorn for movie nights.  It is a fun treat.  My 2 year old loves popcorn so I make a healthy version. You need a stainless steel pot w/ a lid. ~or something similar Place on stovetop with 3 tablespoons of oil (coconut oil is the best). Pour 1/2 cups of popcorn kernels into oil. There is such a thing as organic [...]

Kaley’s Quick Smoothie

This smoothie recipe is pretty simple: raw milk, raw yogurt, and a little organic flavored yogurt.  If you are not a raw yogurt drinker this may not make too much sense.  It is important to include  1/2 raw yogurt, so that the healthy benefits of the raw yogurt are not left out.  But as always, you can improvise and create your own mixture.  You will [...]

Egg Muffin

This is a great recipe to prepare ahead of time for busy weeks.  Some weeks I have more time in the morning than others.  The days that we go up to the farm early I like to have something healthy (already prepared) for the boys.  I can just grab a quick glass of raw milk or yogurt, but they usually need something more substantial.  So [...]

Potato Leek Soup

Potato Leek Soup is an all time favorite soup in our home.  My family really enjoys Potato Leek Soup around the holidays.  A great quote, "To me, true health is...achieved by following the laws of nature; when you break them, illness results.  Health is not something bestowed on you by beneficient nature at birth; it is achieved and maintained only by active participation in well-defined [...]

My Chicken Quest

I have a friend that has a friend that sells locally pastured free-range chickens (as meat).  This guy (who sells the chickens) has a closed group of people he offers his chicken meat too.  It is not over priced.  My friend asked me the other day if I wanted to go check out his place and pick up the chickens she ordered.  I was so [...]

Raw Milk or Pasteurized?

Which is healthier raw milk or pasteurized?  This is a great question.  Since I am doing the Milk Cure, many of my family members have been asking me lots of questions.  Like, what is so healthy about raw milk and how is it different from pasteurized milk?  I have been learning about raw milk for 5 years.  Understanding the health benefits of this super food [...]
