Local grassfed meat (Utah)

Our life has been a little crazy lately.  I had to make a last minute flight to Florida for the closing of our Florida home.  I left Grant with my in-laws for 4 days and decided to bring Garrett with me.  Not sure if that was the best decision.  The flight was long and the hours were pretty late.  He was a little trooper though. [...]

Matsoni Yogurt

I have been wanting to make Matsoni yogurt for a while.  Why? Because the yogurt I buy local gets pricey when you eat as much as we do, it is easy to make, and I like to change things up every now and then.  I will keep buying yogurt from the local farmer and make some on my own.  Sounds like a plan.  I picked [...]

Raw Milk Icee

Since doing the Raw Milk Cure a few weeks ago, I learned a lot about my health.  I felt great limiting carbs and only drinking raw milk packed with healthy fats and proteins. As a result, I have really tried to drink a big glass of raw milk whenever I feel fatigued or drained.  It works great each time.  My energy is quickly restored along [...]

Nourishing Our Children

Nourishing Our Children is a relatively new (2005) non-profit that is based in San Francisco, CA.  I want to help  get their message to others. What is their mission? Fats are GOOD.

I stumbled upon a blog today called Eatin' fat.  This blogger (Brittany) is a mother of 3 children and her family has been on the GAPS Diet for a year now.  She talks about the ups and downs of life on this diet.  The good, the bad, and the ugly detoxing.  Detoxing is part of any body cleanse.  We have lots of detoxing going on [...]

Kaley’s Quick Smoothie

This smoothie recipe is pretty simple: raw milk, raw yogurt, and a little organic flavored yogurt.  If you are not a raw yogurt drinker this may not make too much sense.  It is important to include  1/2 raw yogurt, so that the healthy benefits of the raw yogurt are not left out.  But as always, you can improvise and create your own mixture.  You will [...]

Hot Chocolate

It is perfect for the cool crisp Florida mornings. Nourishing Hot Chocolate: 2 cups Raw milk 1 tsp coconut oil/ 1 tsp vanilla 1 tbl organic cocoa powder 2 tsp organic sugar/ we use rapadura sugar (picture below) Warm up the raw milk gently on the stove.  I keep it at 3-4 until it warms up slowly.  I do not want to overheat the milk. [...]

Raw Milk or Pasteurized?

Which is healthier raw milk or pasteurized?  This is a great question.  Since I am doing the Milk Cure, many of my family members have been asking me lots of questions.  Like, what is so healthy about raw milk and how is it different from pasteurized milk?  I have been learning about raw milk for 5 years.  Understanding the health benefits of this super food [...]
