Healthy Easter Ideas

We left this morning and headed down south about an hour to Mapleton, Ut.  There is a lot of farm land in this area and it is absolutely beautiful.  The views of the mountains were breathtaking.  Too bad my husband works in North Salt Lake or this would be perfect place to have a little farm.  Guess I am still looking. There was a small gathering [...]

No Corn/ No Soy Chickens

I received and email a few days ago from Utah Natural Meat mentioning this little bit of information: "We are excited to announce that these are NO CORN / NO SOY chickens. This will be our first group of birds that we have raised without the use of those two grains. They have also been grass fed through the winter months by using barley sprouts from our [...]

Anti-Aging Serum

I have been using different anti-aging skin care products over the last few months.  I have tried quite a few.  This product is a new favorite of mine.  It is called Restoring Rosehip Oil.  It is Organic and it contains only 2 ingredients.  I like that. I developed a homemade anti-wrinkle cream awhile back and the main ingredient that helps with diminshing wrinkles is Rosehip Oil.   [...]

Sore throat and Dry Skin

This last week I was pretty sick.  I had a fever on and off for 5 days and a severe sore throat.  I think it was tonsillitis, but I am not positive.  I stayed home and rested, hardly ate anything (bc I couldn't swallow), and drank healthy fluids... homemade broths and herbal teas w/ raw honey.  I am finally starting to feel better today.  In [...]

Local grassfed meat (Utah)

Our life has been a little crazy lately.  I had to make a last minute flight to Florida for the closing of our Florida home.  I left Grant with my in-laws for 4 days and decided to bring Garrett with me.  Not sure if that was the best decision.  The flight was long and the hours were pretty late.  He was a little trooper though. [...]

First day of Ski School

The boys are not in regular school right now, so we signed them up for ski school at Brighton Ski Resort.  The resort is only about 45 minutes from our home.  They have 2 cousins that are also signed up in the same class.  Pretty cool I think. The boys have been a little bored lately, and so have I.  What to do with all [...]

New Adventures in Utah

We are enjoying our new adventures in Utah.  We said good-bye toTampa, FL and moved across country to Salt Lake City, UT.  It has been a very busy and stressful few weeks.  Sadly, we left behind most of my extended family in Florida and joined many of his extended family out west.  It is bittersweet really.  I miss the warm Florida winters, but have already [...]

Visiting Lakeside Ranch before we move.

Our house is officially under contract in Tampa,FL!! Crazy. My family and I love this product. For years we have took it. We have been staying up at my parents ranch for the last week.  The boys love coming up to Lakeside Ranch, what we call our 1000 acre ranch in Citrus County Florida.  A little boys paradise.... horses, goats, trucks, tractors, burn piles, golf carts, [...]

Grass-Fed Beef Jerky

I've been looking for high quality grass-fed beef jerky for a few months.  Regular store bought beef jerky is full of sodium and artificial preservatives.  One particular artificial preservative that is toxic and well known is Sodium Nitrite.  Sodium Nitrite has been linked to colon cancer and lung disease.  Beef Jerky is full of it.  Watch out! Just google "negative health benefits of beef jerky" to [...]
