Horsepower 4 Kids

I decided to take the boys down to Horsepower 4 Kids yesterday afternoon.  It may not have been the best idea because it was right during Garrett’s nap time (next time we will plan to go in the morning).  I had no idea they would have so many different types of animals.  This petting zoo is a local (Tampa) and runs as a non-profit organization.  I was very impressed with the organization and cleanliness of the facilities.  It was $5 for admission which included full access to the animals and a train ride.  Garrett was in heaven on the train ride.  It was a very nice ride around a little lake with all sorts of animals.  There were cows, tortoises, Zorses (zebra/ horse), camels, Llamas, peacocks, turkeys, goats,  and a few others.

The boys first encounter with Turkeys.  These guys are huge!

There were really big pigs roaming around, a big playground area, canoeing, a swimming pool.  So many fun things.  Grant wanted to ride the pony for hours, but Garrett was crying for his turn the whole time.  No trips during nap time Mommy!

Garrett was so interested in this little white pony.  He kept guarding the pony from Grant.  Sibling rivalry at its best.

I think it is the perfect place for a 4 year old to hang out and play. The summer camps start at 6 years old.  I think Grant would LOVE that.  Just 2 more years. I saw a lot of elementary and middle school aged kids hanging out.

Here the boys are checking out the pig.  I couldn’t believe the size of this guy!

We could totally do this at the farm! It’s just so much nicer to show up and not have to take care of all of the animals. 🙂
